Who we are
CAME
Members of Coalition Against Malaria in Ethiopia were identified based on their contribution to the prevention and control of malaria in Ethiopia. Current members have been identified from the Federal Ministry of Health (FMOH), NGOs, CSOs, Private sector, People living with HIV/AIDS Associations (Network), UN Families, African Union, Bilateral/Multilateral, Media and other relevant government institutions.
Long term objective
To reduce the suffering, death and economic loss due to malaria by influencing the policy and response at country level.
Short term objectives
- To strengthen capacity of civil society organizations and other local development partners in order to mobilize political support and increase resource allocation for malaria.
- To enhance the Capacity and actions of CSOs/NGOs and private organizations in Ethiopia with strengthened links for coordinated advocacy and resource mobilization through effective technical approaches.
- To increase media coverage and policy debates on malaria.
Intended outputs of CAME
The expected outputs of the program that will be undertaken by CAME include the following:
- The development of CAME with strengthened links for coordinated advocacy and resource mobilization.
- Increased media coverage through new and existing campaigns.
- Increased policy debates and advocacy on malaria.
- Enablement and support of existing and new activities against malaria.
In order to achieve the above indicated outputs, three-pronged approach will be employed, namely:
- Creating capacity for country level advocacy and enabling local civil society organizations, and NGOs in their fight of malaria
- Engaging the successful HIV/AIDS agencies/organizations to create a new generation of malaria champions and activists who are well informed empowered.
- Combining effective use of media, mobilization, and marketing to stimulate political debate.
